Grow with Janiene

For women of colour who are seeking to re-define their role in the legal profession through authenticity.

Align. Empower. Anchor.

Identifying the Issue

There seems to be unwritten rules in the legal field. They appear to dictate how lawyers should act and what their character traits should be, including how they should look and behave. But all this does is keep power in the same hands. The legal profession wasn’t built with women of colour in mind. This means that women of colour feel like they don’t belong and instead of sticking to their authentic selves, they begin to conform. The pressure to fit in and the constant second guessing impacts their well being and happiness. In order to be accepted, they have to play by the already set rules, especially as they avoid upsetting the status quo.

Working Towards Growth

Instead of constantly editing themselves in the legal profession, women of colour should be free to take off the mask they put on at work. To be able to do this, they need to work towards being okay with their authentic selves. This means a shift in perspective. To reframe the mindset they have around conforming as the only way to succeed.

Janiene recognizes the importance of self-discovery and self-awareness in this process. Through one-to-one coaching, Janiene offers to work with clients on shedding limiting beliefs, setting healthy boundaries, aligning with core values, and balancing cultural differences.

Instead of displaying success on the outside while feeling exhausted and drained on the inside, through coaching women learn to feel empowered from within. Janiene works one-to-one with clients to stay anchored to their vision while they pivot towards focusing on the power within and living a life of alignment.
